Portrait photography
Portrait photography (also known as portraiture) is a photo in which a person or group of people are shown. Most often a portrait will display the mood or personality of the person or group of people. The focus of the photograph is the person’s face, although the entire body and the background may be included. A portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position.
Taking a portrait picture
1) Make sure the lighting is spot on- if you do not have good lighting the picture may not come out how you intended it to.
2) Make sure your subject has good facial expression and composure.
3) If you are trying to make money off of selling portraits invest in a pair of “flash umbrellas or a soft box” which will diffuse the lighting giving your photo a balanced light.
